Geoactive was built on strong foundations.
When Derek founded the business, the values he introduced - fun, flexible, open, caring, creative, united, and simple (FFOCUS) -were exactly what Geoactive needed at that stage of its journey. They reflected a young, ambitious company with big ideas, a close-knit team, and a genuine desire to work differently.
Those values shaped how we built relationships, how we solved problems, and how we showed up for our customers and each other. They created a culture people enjoyed being part of, and one that clients wanted to work with.
And they worked. Geoactive grew, built trust, and earned a reputation for being open, innovative, and genuinely good people to deal with.
That matters. And it still does.
Growth Brings New Responsibilities
As Geoactive has grown, so have the expectations placed on us -by our customers, our partners, and each other.
We’re now delivering more complex projects, supporting a broader range of customers, and operating across more markets. That requires not only creativity and flexibility, but also consistency, ownership, and clarity at every level of the organisation.
This isn’t about leaving our past behind. It’s about recognising that the behaviours that help a company start successfully are not always enough to help it scale responsibly.
That’s why, with a new management team in place and a new phase of our journey underway, we’ve taken the opportunity to evolve our values, not replace them.
The Next Chapter for Geoactive
Our updated values reflect who we are today, and who we are becoming.

They provide a clear framework for how we operate as a modern, growing organisation, helping us stay aligned as we scale.
What Hasn’t Changed
It’s important to be clear: the spirit of Geoactive remains the same.
We are still open in how we work, creative in how we solve problems, and authentic in how we collaborate. Those traits didn’t disappear as we matured, they are part of our DNA.
Most importantly, they remind us that together, we are Geoactive.
Our story hasn’t changed direction - it has gained momentum.
